TheOpportunity

The Product/ProjectManager position is a part of the Global IT Department, which is directlyoverseen by the Group’s CIO. Our team currently comprises over 40 IT, software,and data professionals primarily based in Shanghai and Moerdijk (theNetherlands). With our IT presence in Singapore rapidly expanding, we areexcited to invite you to join our team!

What You WillWork On

Our product/projectmanagers own business applications and data projects end-to-end, working withour engineers, analysts, and business users across Gentco. As an example of thekind of work involved: we are currently building a decision-making hub for ourtanker shipping division, bringing together data from our shipping systems, theinternal and external data needed for commercial and operational decisions, andthe algorithms and people that make those decisions. A project like this meansgathering requirements from chartering and operations teams, working with ourdata engineers and analysts on what to build, and driving delivery through toadoption. We also think a lot about what product management and softwaredevelopment look like in the LLM era, and we like people who are curious aboutit: not vibe coding, but tinkering with agent harnesses, setting up agenticworkflows, and working out where they change how a team builds and runssoftware.

Beyond your firstproject, this role can grow in two directions: becoming the Product Manager ofa major product, owning it end-to-end for its users across Gentco; or becomingan IT Business Partner for one of our business units, managing a portfolio of applicationsand projects over time. Both need strong project management; which one suitsyou will show in the work.

JobResponsibilities:

· Understand users (internal and external), markets,and competition in depth; translate business needs into products, and takeownership of specific business applications and responsibility for the endresult.

· Take projects through their entire lifecycle:refine promising ideas into project proposals, plan and oversee execution,ensure quality and timeliness, and run retrospectives and documentation oncompletion.

· Work collaboratively with our global engineeringand data teams to deliver and improve business applications in a highlyiterative pattern.

· Embody a quantitative approach to project andproduct management: design unbiased KPIs and metrics to justify projectoutcomes, and regularly survey or interview users for feedback.

· Experiment with LLM tooling and agentic workflowsin your own work and in the products you own: set up harnesses, automate therepetitive parts of product and project management, and bring what actuallyworks to the rest of the team.

· Keep project status, decisions, and documentationcurrent in our project tooling (Confluence, Linear) so stakeholders acrossShanghai, Moerdijk, and Singapore stay aligned.

· Promote a culture of organizational learning byfacilitating knowledge sharing and best practices in documentation.

Requirements:

· 2+ years as a project, product, or program managerwith hands-on use of modern project management tooling; or 2+ years in maritimelogistics or supply chain with demonstrable experience leading cross-functionaldeliveries

· Strong desire and ability to learn our industry(tanker shipping and tank container logistics) and its operating/businessmodels

· Comfortable communicating across technical andnon-technical audiences; able to translate business needs into clearly scopedrequirements

· Professional fluency in English

· Professional fluency in Mandarin is an added advantage to effectively liaise with Chinese-speaking counterparts.

· Highly motivated, with a proactive approach toproject ownership and accountability for outcomes and timelines

DesirableQualities:

· Previous work experience with B2B ERP/TMS systems

· Previous work experience in maritime logistics orshipping

· Experience on data or analytics projects (workingwith data engineers and analysts, defining KPIs)

· High-level knowledge of modern softwarearchitectures and DevOps principles

· Interest or hands-on experience with LLM toolingbeyond chat: setting up agent harnesses, automating parts of your own work, orbuilding small agentic workflows
