Project Scheduler
WSP India is currently seeking Project Scheduler for our UK offshore Wind Energy Projects. This position will be a support to the project manager in area of planning, scheduling, management of changes, project monitoring and project controls reporting. Specializing in planning and scheduling, the scheduler’s main role will be supporting the project manager to establish a Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and monitor the progress during the execution phase of the project.
The successful candidate will also be required to generate initial schedule based on the work awarded, develop detailed schedule and create scenarios (before and after), maintain baselines, provide inputs to schedule variance analysis as well as support the business development team with scheduling needs. A Team player and willing to work collaboratively with a motivated and highly successful team in the UK.
Interactive planning session(s) with the area / team leads to establish a PMB
Monitor project risks, issues, resources and CPM and assist in providing solutions to Project Controls Manager and the Resident Engineer, complying with WSP and the Client’s standards and codes.
Proactively identify and highlight any progress issues which threaten successful delivery of the project, so that recovery action may be taken including any claims.
Develop different level of schedule for the project as well as supporting the business development group during the proposal phase.
Able to perform critical path analysis to determine which deliverable have float and which cannot slip schedule.
Mentor junior and intermediate staff.
Manage internal and external client expectations and coach others in effective negotiation.
Ability to work with internal and external client to create integrated EPC/client schedules.
Coordinating the activities of the schedulers in the performance of their assigned tasks.
Timey identification, notification, optimization and recording of schedule scenarios supporting trends items that have potential for future impact within project scope.
Assisting in the improvement of the management of changes procedures.
Provide technical support and work collaboratively with Project Managers to ensure that the project schedule scenarios (what if) are developed to satisfaction.
Maintain the master schedule baseline for engineering, procurement and construction activities.
Work in close collaboration with another department to prepare consistent outputs.
Prepare schedule scenarios for trends and scope change with Project Team regarding project activities
Advanced knowledge of the philosophies, principals, practices & techniques of project controlling.
Convey an understanding of project evolution and serve as a preventative mechanism for unforeseen cost and schedule impacts.
Plan staffing and project hours to ensure necessary resources are available and appropriately assigned for both approved and proposed work.
Take on additional responsibilities as directed by management.
Evaluate impact of the project trends for cost and schedule, provide most accurate total impacts by ensuring inclusion of all cost categories (engineering, material, equipment, construction) and schedule impacts.
Ensure all project/discipline related risks are raised.
Record risk items, update, and maintain risk register.
Key Competencies/Skills
Experience with Project scheduling & Primavera P6 a must.
Mandatory Skills
8-12 years Experience with Project scheduling with Offshore Wind energy or Offshore O & G or Marine industry experience.
Demonstrable capability in Project Controls, and proven skills in the use of Primavera / Microsoft / other planning products (e.g. Primavera Project Management, Primavera Risk Analysis, Microsoft Project)

Understanding Earned Value Management guiding principles considered a plus.

Must be time flexible and able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Attention to detail is critical
Familiarity with other analytics tools such as Power Point, Excel, Power BI & equivalent dashboards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
Work experience on cost control will be an added advantage.
Must be Flexible to attend meetings outside office hours or early in the morning to align with UK time.
Previous experience in an EPCM environment in the Offshore Wind energy or Offshore O & G or Marineis an asset.
Must have minimum 8-12 years of experience post-graduation, preferably relating to a large-scale professional services work environment.
Degree holder with Arts/commerce/Science/Engineering + MBA-Operations management or diploma or certificate in Project Management or other applicable area would be an asset.
Work experience on UK projects would be advantageous.
PMP certification would be advantageous.
