Project Subcontracts Manager

This role is based in Singapore and reports to the Head of Subcontracts. Position Overview You will lead the project subcontracts function throughout the execution phase of an assigned FPSO project, from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover. In your first year, you will establish subcontracting strategies, manage commercial performance across critical project packages, and lead a team that supports safe and successful project delivery. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Lead the subcontracts function throughout the execution phase of an assigned FPSO project Develop and implement subcontracting plans, strategies, procedures, and execution frameworks aligned with project objectives Manage the full subcontract lifecycle, from planning and tendering through administration, claims management, and close-out Establish and maintain subcontract registers, commitments, risks, and performance reporting Coordinate closely with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and corporate functions Lead subcontractor selection, negotiations, commercial discussions, and dispute resolution activities Monitor subcontract cost, schedule, and risk performance, driving mitigation actions where required Develop and lead the project subcontracts team, providing coaching, performance management, and continuous improvement Qualifications You will need: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Law, Commerce, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building Management, or a related discipline Minimum 15 years of experience in subcontracting, contracts management, or commercial management within the offshore, oil and gas, or energy industry At least 5 years of leadership experience managing contracts or subcontract teams on major capital projects Demonstrated experience managing complex EPC, EPCI, EPCIC, FPSO, offshore, or equivalent project contracts through the full project lifecycle Strong knowledge of subcontract strategy, tendering, contract administration, claims management, commercial negotiations, and subcontract close-out Experience integrating subcontract performance with project cost control, schedule management, and risk management processes Nice to have: Master's degree in a relevant discipline Professional certifications from CIPS, RICS, or equivalent organisations Experience managing multiple concurrent execution work fronts within FPSO projects Experience operating in international and multi-jurisdictional project environments Familiarity with local content requirements and regulatory obligations in FPSO host countries Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, contract management platforms, and project management tools Knowledge of subcontractor HSSE qualification and performance management processes Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion BW Offshore is committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all.
