Projects Director
Job Description
- Lead and oversee the overall management of projects from the planning and design stages through implementation, completion, and handover.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to project teams, ensuring projects are delivered within the agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and available resources.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including project, engineering, procurement, and site teams, to ensure effective project execution.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, building contractors, and other key stakeholders to drive project progress and achieve customer expectations.
- Monitor overall project performance, including progress, cost, quality, resources, and risks, and take timely corrective actions where required.
- Ensure proper project documentation, reporting, and records are maintained throughout the entire project life cycle.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and potential delays, and implement appropriate mitigation measures to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with contractual requirements, approved specifications, quality standards, agreed schedules, and budget.
- Review project performance and provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project progress, costs, risks, and key issues.
- Support and oversee contractual and commercial matters, including variation orders, claims, and other project-related contractual issues where required.
- Lead project teams by providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high standards of performance, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.
Job Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry, with strong experience in building façade projects.
- Proven experience in managing and delivering large-scale or complex construction projects from planning through to completion.
- Strong leadership, organizational, project management, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Good working attitude with a high level of professionalism, integrity, initiative, accountability, and a strong team-oriented mindset.
- Strong knowledge of project management processes, construction practices, and building façade works.
- Knowledge and/or experience in contractual and commercial management will be an added advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
