Job Summary
Pico Propane, a Meritum Energy Holdings Company, is seeking a Propane and Cylinder Delivery Driver to join the team! This position is responsible for loading, transporting and delivering propane to our residential and commercial customers using a bobtail truck (3,000-5,000-gallon capacity). This is a field-based position supporting the Port St. Lucie area. Although the reporting office is located in West Palm Beach, candidates can be based in or near Port St. Lucie.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Delivers cylinders of various sizes and picks up empty cylinders
- Delivered to all customers on a flatbed truck that may be equipped with a lift gate to assist with loading and unloading cylinders
- Performs all daily functions in a safe manner by adhering to all federal and state codes and regulations, in addition to all safety and operations policies and procedures while utilizing all personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Complies with all city, state, and federal regulations
- Loads, secures, transports, and delivers propane to residential and commercial locations
- Provides a high level of service to customers
- Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
- Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven in compliance with all DOT regulations
- Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
- Ensures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
- Applies a thorough understanding of the technical concepts, practices and procedures and a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to testing and transporting bulk petroleum products to pipeline injection points
- Performs other related duties as assigned
