Property Disposal Officer
This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Logistics Management (NSL) organization in Supply Chain Services (NS), Chief Administrative Office (N). A successful candidate in the Property Disposal Officer position will supervise the overall compliance of the Hazardous Waste Facility and the Supply System Analyst function.
As a Property Disposal Officer, you will: Oversee the investment recovery program, which includes managing the disposal of excess property and ensuring all items are accurately tracked from removal to final disposition. Determine the most financially beneficial methods for disposing of property-such as through sales, recycling, or donations-to maximize the organization's return on investment. Develop guidelines for evaluating, repairing, or scrapping used equipment in order to increase its value or dispose of it in a cost-effective manner. Ensure all property disposal activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, particularly for hazardous materials, and recommend updates to internal policies. Supervise and train a team of disposal staff, handling personnel duties including recruitment, career development, and performance management. Manage contracts and oversee the work of contractors hired for disposal and recycling services, ensuring they meet all contractual, safety, and environmental requirements.
