Property Inspector (FL)

Open 20d

Summary

Conduct on-site inspections of high-value homes in Florida to assess structural and wind resilience, estimate replacement costs, and inform underwriting decisions using Florida Building Code standards.

Why Join Stand: At Stand, you’ll help build a new class of global property protection. We use advanced physics and AI to model catastrophic risk at the asset level, then automate underwriting and mitigation before loss occurs. Insurance is simply the current delivery mechanism. The real product is a scalable risk engine, our Stand World Model.

We stay when traditional insurers exit. We model what others approximate. And we build systems that change outcomes, not just prices.

Our leadership team includes former successful founders and CEOs from Metromile, PolicyGenius, WePay, and HotelTonight, bringing deep experience in building and scaling high-growth companies.

Background: The property insurance industry is built to price loss after it happens. It relies on coarse proxies, backward-looking data, and manual processes, then accepts damage as unavoidable.

Stand takes a different approach. We simulate how real-world catastrophes affect individual properties, translate that into actionable decisions, and automate the business around it. The result is a platform that can underwrite what others can’t and operate with far less friction.

Location: Orlando or Tampa based

Role Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Property Inspector to join Stand's growing inspection team. In this role you will conduct physical inspections of high-value, wind-exposed homes across Florida and other states as Stand expands. You will assess structural and wind resilience characteristics, document replacement cost components, and deliver findings that directly inform underwriting decisions. • Experience estimating replacement costs on high-value custom homes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with high-net-worth homeowners, brokers, and estate managers

  • Ability to assess windstorm and structural risk factors including roof covering and age, roof-to-wall connections, and opening protection (impact-rated windows/shutters).

  • Knowledge of Florida Building Code wind-resistant construction standards

  • Self-directed and organized — comfortable managing a full inspection workload with minimal oversight

  • Adaptable and open to evolving workflows, proprietary tools, and new standards as Stand's inspection program develops

  • Ability to juggle multiple active inspections, deadlines, and cross-functional communication at once

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Experience working within a high-net-worth or private client insurance environment

  • Familiarity with windstorm risk frameworks, mitigation standards, and wind mitigation principles

  • 401(k) plan

  • Commuter benefits

  • PAT & MAT Leave

  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
