Property Lawyer, Wills & Estates

NewBe an early applicant
On behalf of our client, Scotia Law, we are looking for a Property Lawyer, Wills & Estates to join their growing team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

About Our Client:
Scotia Law is a well-established boutique law firm known for delivering exceptional legal services with a personal touch. Their reputation has been built on trusted relationships, responsive service, and a genuine commitment to putting clients first.

At Scotia Law, legal expertise is only part of the equation. The team believes that taking the time to understand clients, communicate clearly, and build lasting relationships is what truly sets them apart. That same people-first approach extends to their team, creating a collaborative environment where everyone is invested in each other's success. As a growing firm, Scotia Law values people who bring ideas, take initiative, and are excited to contribute to the continued evolution of the practice.

The Opportunity:
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with experience in residential real estate and Wills & Estates who is looking for more than simply managing files. You'll join an established, high-volume residential real estate practice while playing an
important role in continuing to grow the firm's Wills & Estates practice. This is an opportunity to build on an existing foundation while expanding your knowledge, taking on increasing responsibility, and developing your own area of expertise over time.

If you're looking for a collaborative environment where your ideas are welcomed, your work is appreciated, and client relationships come before billable hours, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

The Ideal Candidate:
You're an intelligent, curious, and resourceful lawyer who enjoys working with people just as much as practicing law. Building relationships comes naturally to you, and you understand that exceptional client service is just as important as strong legal knowledge. You're approachable, humble, and
genuinely enjoy helping clients navigate important life decisions. You take initiative, work independently, and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves when
needed. At the same time, you're coachable and open to learning established processes that have helped Scotia Law build its outstanding reputation. Most importantly, you're looking for a firm where collaboration, trust, and long-term growth matter more than hierarchy or ego. You take ownership of your files, enjoy researching unfamiliar issues, and aren't afraid to ask thoughtful questions while continuing to build your knowledge and independence.

Responsibilities:
● Manage residential real estate transactions from start to finish, including purchases,
sales, refinances, deed transfers, and related matters
● Draft and review legal documents, agreements, and correspondence
● Prepare Wills, Powers of Attorney, Personal Directives, and assist with estate
administration matters

● Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and professional obligations
● Support the continued growth of the firm's real estate and Wills & Estates practice
● Contribute to business development and community relationship-building initiatives
● Conduct legal research and provide practical solutions on property and estate
matters
