We're looking for a Product Owner for the National Trust’s ‘Property System’. The Property System is a mature, business-critical platform that supports the National Trust’s management of land, buildings, agreements, income, maintenance and compliance. It connects operational delivery, property data, finance and reporting, and its reach is continuing to grow.

What it's like to work here

You’ll lead the team responsible for the system, setting its strategic direction and ensuring priorities reflect organisational need. You’ll give stakeholders confidence in where the product is heading and create the clarity and conditions the team needs to deliver well.

You’ll have organisation-wide reach across regions, countries and national directorates, and balance operational requirements with a long-term view, working with senior stakeholders, delivery teams and external partners to turn business needs into a coherent roadmap and deliver change well.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

You’ll provide strategic leadership for one of the National Trust’s most significant operational systems, ensuring it continues to support current business needs while evolving to meet future priorities. You’ll own the vision, strategy and roadmap for the Property System, translating complex requirements into clear priorities and deliverable outcomes.

You’ll lead and develop the Property System team, creating a resilient, collaborative culture and ensuring resources are focused where they deliver the greatest benefit. Through effective governance, communication and engagement, you’ll manage risk and dependencies, strengthen data standards and reporting, support users through change and identify opportunities to improve the value the system brings to the Trust.

• Good understanding of business systems, data and how different systems work together.
• Experience managing products or services from the first idea through to launch and ongoing improvements.
• Able to balance user needs, business goals, technical requirements and risks when making decisions.
• A supportive and collaborative leader who communicates clearly, builds strong relationships and looks for ways to improve services.
