Protocol Director

Lead protocol teams and set technical direction for blockchain infrastructure while guiding engineers through complex protocol challenges, shaping protocol strategy, managing headcount and performance, coordinating cross-functional work, supporting client and commercial engagements, and translating technical depth into clear guidance for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the protocol teams.
• Manage the validators, Solana, and Chainlink team leads and develop them as technical leaders.
• Provide protocol-level technical guidance to teams.
• Set operating rhythms across planning, reviews, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Own headcount health, retention, and performance.
• Own protocol strategy and maintain a forward-looking view across participating protocols.
• Connect protocol evolution with engineering teams responding to upgrades, forks, and new mechanisms.
• Advise leadership on protocol-level risk, opportunity, and emerging areas.
• Operate staffing, sequencing, cadences, and cross-team coordination.
• Support client conversations and commercial discussions requiring protocol expertise.
• Translate protocol complexity for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Demonstrated protocol depth across at least two of Ethereum, Solana, or Chainlink/oracle networks.
• Track record managing and developing technical teams.
• Experience in fast-moving, high-stakes environments with business and client consequences.
• Strong technical communication for engineers, clients, and executives.
• Operational fluency across capacity planning, sequencing, on-call, incident response, and hiring.
• High agency and low ego with ownership of a clear mandate.
• Genuine interest in the future of the protocol landscape.
