PS / ES Substitute
Position Summary
Substitute Teachers at Denver Christian School support student learning and maintain continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Substitute Teachers carry out lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher and uphold the school’s commitment to academic excellence within the context of a biblical worldview. They partner with school leadership to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students.

Academic Support
Substitute Teachers facilitate learning by clearly delivering lesson plans, assisting students as needed, and maintaining instructional momentum. While substitutes are not responsible for long-term planning or assessment, they are expected to promote academic engagement and effort during their assignment.
Classroom Management
Substitute Teachers maintain a safe, orderly, and positive classroom environment. They manage student behavior using school-established expectations and discipline practices, seek support from administration when needed, and treat students with consistency, fairness, and respect.
Professional Conduct
Substitute Teachers work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff, communicate clearly about classroom activities and student needs, and represent the school professionally at all times.
