Position Summary
The PSE Equipment Engineer is responsible for the installation, setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Dual-In-Line Package (DIP) production equipment and processes. This role ensures optimal equipment performance to support high-quality and efficient PCB assembly operations.
The engineer works closely with cross-functional teams—including Production, Quality, and Process Engineering—to drive manufacturing excellence, minimize downtime, and meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain SMT/DIP production equipment, including but not limited to:
- Screen printers (e.g., DEK, GKG)
- Pick-and-place machines (e.g., Panasonic NPM)
- Reflow ovens (e.g., REHM)
- Selective soldering machines (e.g., Ersa)
- Press-fit machines, gluing machines, routers, conveyors, and pallet carrier systems
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce downtime and improve reliability
- Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and associated documentation
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by ensuring equipment readiness, process capability, and successful line setup
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and suppliers regarding technical support, upgrades, and spare parts procurement
- Train operators and technicians on proper equipment operation, safety procedures, and basic troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Participate actively in PSE department meetings, including M360 dialogue sessions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
