Practice Purpose-Driven Medicine in Washington’s Scenic Heartland
Escape the assembly-line pace of corporate medicine and make an authentic, lasting difference where your clinical expertise is both urgently needed and deeply valued.
Nestled between the rugged North Cascades and the sun-drenched Okanogan Valley, Family Health Centers (FHC) is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our collaborative multidisciplinary team. Why Build Your Career at Family Health Centers?
True Collaborative Care: You won't practice on an island. Work closely alongside primary care providers, case managers, and behavioral health staff in an integrated model where psychiatric health is treated as essential primary care.
Autonomy with Strong Support: Manage your own patient panel with independent clinical decision-making, while enjoying structured consultation and strong institutional support.
Hybrid Flexibility: Serve patients through a sustainable mix of in-clinic visits and modern telehealth services.
Substantial Loan Repayment: As a community health center serving designated shortage areas, qualifying clinicians can tap into significant federal and state loan forgiveness programs (such as the National Health Service Corps and Washington State HPLRP).
Unbeatable Lifestyle: Trade city congestion and high housing costs for crisp mountain air, pristine rivers, world-class fishing, hiking, skiing, and room to breathe.
Primary Role & Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care: Perform psychiatric diagnostic evaluations, clinical assessments, individualized treatment plans, and ongoing psychiatric medication management for ambulatory clinic and telehealth patients.
Integrated Consultation: Serve as an expert behavioral health resource for primary care medical providers, coordinating care plans and stabilizing patients before transitioning them back to their primary medical home.
Patient & Family Education: Empower individuals and families through clear counseling on diagnoses, medications, health promotion, and self-directed wellness goals.
Clinical Excellence & Advocacy: Advocate for patients needing specialty or higher-level behavioral health resources; participate in quality improvement, clinic practice guideline development, and peer education.
Accurate Documentation: Maintain timely, complete, and compliant records in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
