Psychiatrist (part-time) - Adult Intensive Services/AIS (62966)

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Part-Time Psychiatrist (0.5 FTE, 20 hours per week) to join our Adult Intensive Services (AIS) team. In this role, you will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for adults experiencing severe and persistent mental illness while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional behavioral health care. This position offers the opportunity to serve diverse and often underserved populations, including individuals experiencing mental health crises, co-occurring conditions, and involuntary psychiatric treatment. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, patient-centered clinician who demonstrates integrity, accountability, and a passion for improving lives through high-quality psychiatric care.

Schedule. This is a part-time, 0.5 FTE position (20 hours per week) with flexible scheduling options designed to support work-life balance. We also offer a hybrid work environment, allowing providers to work remotely up to 50% of the time while maintaining meaningful collaboration and patient engagement.

Salary for this role. Salary is based on 0.5 FTE (full-time equivalent) or 20 hours per week. Fewer than 20 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. Salary is also based on years of licensure and company equity.

  • $122,116.33 - $183,174.485 per annum

Essential Functions:

  • Provide direct medical and psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of patients assigned, on a regular basis as within the scope of State care.
  • Assure clinicians in assigned services receive appropriate clinical supervision, as necessary.
  • Work with multidisciplinary staff to evaluate and triage according to level of acuity, as needed.
  • Share 24-hour on-call responsibilities with other psychiatrists for residential, outpatient and emergency care, as assigned.
  • Maintain availability by telephone for face-to-face evaluation of emergency patients, as appropriate.
  • Provide utilization review of all patients in continuing care to ensure appropriate medical/psychiatric services are received, as needed.
  • Attend team and other meetings, as necessary.
  • Provide consultation with other physicians and staff on patient care and difficult cases, as needed.
  • Attend continuing medical education conferences to maintain excellent standards of care, on a regular basis.
  • Understand and comply with organizational goals around quality, compliance, standards, and policies.
  • Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
  • Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
  • Accurately and completely document patient care.
  • Monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the client's care team.
