Position Summary
The Psychologist provides evidence-based psychological assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and psychotherapy within Montefiore Einstein Psychiatry Associates, a multidisciplinary outpatient academic psychiatry practice serving children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, the Psychologist develops individualized treatment plans, delivers high-quality behavioral health care, maintains timely clinical documentation, and contributes to the educational, quality improvement, and academic missions of Montefiore Einstein Psychiatry Associates. This position supports timely patient access and delivers outcome-informed care consistent with departmental quality standards and institutional priorities.
Essential Functions
Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and psychological assessments to establish diagnoses, develop case formulations, and guide treatment planning.
Complete timely, accurate clinical assessments.
Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment recommendations.
Communicate findings effectively to patients, families, and referring providers.
Provide evidence-based psychotherapy to patients using individual, group, family, and/or couples treatment modalities, as appropriate.
Deliver high-quality clinical care using empirically supported interventions.
Utilize standardized routine clinical outcome measures to inform treatment planning, monitor progress, and improve quality of care.
Modify treatment plans based on clinical progress and patient needs.
Maintain productivity and patient access expectations established by the practice.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning.
Facilitate referrals to specialty behavioral health, medical, and community-based services when appropriate.
Promote continuity of care across providers and settings.
Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation within the electronic health record.
Complete clinical documentation within required timeframes.
Ensure compliance with institutional, regulatory, accreditation, and payer requirements.
Document treatment plans, progress, and clinical outcomes in accordance with departmental standards.
Conduct risk assessments and intervene appropriately in psychiatric emergencies.
Assess suicide, homicide, abuse, neglect, and other safety concerns.
Implement appropriate safety planning and consultation consistent with departmental policies.
Coordinate emergency evaluations and higher levels of care when clinically indicated.
Practice in accordance with professional, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards.
Adhere to the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct, New York State regulations, and Joint Commission standards.
Maintain patient confidentiality and fulfill mandated reporting responsibilities.
Participate in continuing professional development and maintain professional licensure.
Participate in the academic and clinical missions of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
Provide supervision to psychology trainees, fellows, and/or limited permit psychologists, as assigned.
Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and program development.
Contribute to teaching, scholarship, and other departmental initiatives, as appropriate.
Qualifications
· Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA/PCSAS-accredited graduate program.
· Completion of an APA-accredited internship; postdoctoral training preferred.
· Licensed Psychologist in New York State (or license eligible, as applicable).
· Demonstrated competence in evidence-based psychological assessment and psychotherapy.
· Experience providing outpatient behavioral health services preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
· Ability to function effectively within an interdisciplinary academic medical center.
· Experience providing supervision, teaching, or mentoring is preferred.
· Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software.
· Commitment to culturally responsive, equitable, and patient-centered care.
· Ability to work some evening hours.
