Job Summary
The Lecture/Lab Instructor teaches kinesiology lecture and laboratory courses, develops instructional and assessment materials, and supports student learning through effective classroom and laboratory instruction.
Essential Functions
- Communicate course objectives, learning outcomes, expectations, and policies to students through the course syllabus and other instructional materials.
- Provide effective instruction in assigned kinesiology courses and support student success through appropriate teaching and assessment.
- Collaborate with the Kinesiology Chair on curriculum, assessment, scheduling, student concerns, and other departmental initiatives to support student success and program effectiveness.
- Ensure safety requirements are followed in the classroom and laboratory.
- Respond to student questions and concerns during class, office hours, and through timely electronic communication
- Use the Learning Management System (LMS) appropriately to support instruction, student learning, and course communication.
- Maintain academic records in accordance with college policies, accreditation requirements, and applicable laws.
- Stay current with developments, trends, and best practices in the field of kinesiology.
- Participate in student learning outcomes assessment and program evaluation activities as required by the department and the College.
- Recommend textbooks and instructional materials that support kinesiology courses.
