Position Summary
Position Summary: Associate Faculty provides an invaluable service to the College and our students by providing experience of their profession in our classrooms, laboratories, and studios. Instruction is provided via multiple mediums, including face-to-face courses and blended learning throughout Cochise County and our entire services area.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:
Teaches assigned courses to enrolled students and manages a diverse population of students in a classroom, laboratory, or in an online environment
Develops, prepares and implements lesson plans; conducts pre- and post-assessment of students; evaluates, assesses and plans for students' educational and social needs
Collaborates with other faculty and staff in assessment of teaching strategies and the effectiveness of the instructional program to help promote a culture of continuous improvement
Maintains student records, statistics, and/or other pertinent information as required by the college and the department
Resolves issues relevant to area of responsibility and scope of authority, referring more difficult or complex problems to the appropriate Department Chair, Dean, or other College official
Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an institution accredited by an institutional accrediting body of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education
Three years of experience as a Registered NurseArizona Registered Nurse Licensure
Arizona DPS Fingerprint clearance card for clinical access
Successful completion of Cochise College’s Medical History and Physical
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of research-based adult learning principles
Knowledge of trends, developments, and new technologies affecting education
Knowledge of developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum and instructional approaches
Skill in using authentic assessment to evaluate students' needs and progress
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations
Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail
Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment
Ability to analyze problems, identifies solutions, and takes appropriate actions to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision making processes
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience in nursing education
History in areas of medical and surgical nursing
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under limited supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical classroom, laboratory, office or online setting, with appropriate climate controls. Evening or weekend work may be required
Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important
