Position Title: PT Campus Safety Specialist
Department: Campus Safety & Police Department
Reports To: Chief of Police or designee
Pay Grade: Grade 2
Position Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- operates campus safety vehicles;
- monitors and responds to calls received through the campus safety cellphone and related communication systems;
- performs duties associated with assigned work schedules consisting primarily of overnight and weekend shifts, with occasional weekday assignments during campus holiday closures;
- conducts vehicle and foot patrols of campus buildings and grounds;
- serves as an initial responder when required;
- conducts loss prevention and asset protection functions;
- identifies and reports safety hazards and suspicious activity;
- assists students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors as needed while helping maintain a safe and secure campus environment.
