Part-Time Nanny Manager – Highland Park, IL

A Highland Park family with two children, ages 11 and 13, is seeking a warm, dependable, and highly organized Part-Time Nanny Manager for a long-term position. The family is looking for someone who can build a genuine connection with their children while confidently managing household responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is calm, patient, encouraging, and easy to be around, with experience supporting middle school-aged children and an understanding of the changing needs and personalities that come with this stage. Someone who listens, validates, communicates well, and takes the time to get to know each child individually will be a great fit for this family.

Position Details
  • Location: Highland Park, IL
  • Schedule: 4 days per week, 1:00 PM–6:00 PM
  • Required Days: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday- family is flexible on the fourth workday based on the nanny’s availability
  • Guaranteed Hours: 20 hours per week
  • Compensation: $28–$33/hour, DOE
  • Benefits: PTO offered
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Driving: Family vehicle provided for work-related driving
  • Parents work from home
  • Family employs a housekeeper; no deep cleaning required
  • Annual flu vaccination and current required vaccinations are required
Childcare Responsibilities
  • Provide warm, attentive, and age-appropriate support for two middle school-aged children
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with each child while getting to know their individual personalities, interests, and needs
  • Provide a calm, patient, and encouraging presence and be willing to listen and validate the children as they navigate the middle school years
  • Safely transport children to activities, appointments, and other commitments as needed
  • Help children stay organized and on track with their afternoon schedules and responsibilities
  • Plan and suggest engaging, age-appropriate activities based on the children’s interests
  • Be comfortable swimming with the children or confidently supervising them around water
  • Communicate openly and consistently with parents regarding schedules, activities, and the children’s needs
  • Remain flexible and adaptable, as the focus of the role may shift slightly when one parent is traveling
Household Management Responsibilities
  • Prepare family meals and children’s snacks
  • Grocery shop and maintain household food essentials
  • Complete family laundry, including clothing, sheets, and towels
  • Keep the kitchen tidy, load and unload the dishwasher, and assist with general kitchen upkeep
  • Maintain organization of the pantry, closets, and other frequently used household spaces
  • Complete household and family-related errands
  • Assist with coordinating household repairs, service providers, and workers as needed
  • Handle seasonal household projects, including rotating and organizing closets and clothing
  • Assist with occasional dog-related errands
  • Help anticipate household needs and independently identify tasks that need attention

  • Experienced with middle school-aged children and comfortable supporting their growing independence
  • Warm, kind, understanding, and emotionally aware
  • Calm and patient with the ability to listen, validate, and encourage
  • Friendly and personable while maintaining professionalism
  • Independent, proactive self-starter who does not require constant direction
  • Highly organized and able to balance childcare and household-management responsibilities
  • Adaptable and comfortable with changing priorities
  • Creative and able to independently come up with activities and ideas for the children
  • Strong communicator who works collaboratively with parents
  • Strong driving history and confident transporting children
  • Comfortable around a friendly dog
  • Spanish-speaking/bilingual is a plus
  • Social work experience or a related background is a plus
  • Open to occasional overnight support when needed
  • Willingness to dog-sit occasionally is a bonus
