We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Server PT to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort team! You will be an integral member of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic experiences for our guests. You will be responsible for greeting guests, running food orders, maintaining outlet cleanliness, and checking on guest satisfaction. You will use the freedom to go beyond to turn guest interactions into moments of magic.
Reporting to the General Manager, as a Server PT, you will play a vital role in supporting our restaurant operations by ensuring cleanliness, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. Your diligence and dedication to service will contribute to the seamless flow of our dining experience.
Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Server is responsible for providing friendly, attentive, and efficient service to guests while ensuring a positive dining experience. The Server accurately takes and delivers food and beverage orders, communicates guest needs to the appropriate team members, maintains a clean and organized service area, and follows all company standards and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and provide courteous, professional, and attentive service throughout their visit.
- Present menus, explain food and beverage selections, and answer guest questions regarding menu items.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter orders into the appropriate ordering system.
- Communicate special requests, dietary restrictions, and other guest needs to the kitchen and management team.
- Deliver food and beverages accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor guest needs throughout the meal and provide refills, additional items, and other requested services.
- Check with guests to ensure satisfaction and promptly address concerns or communicate them to management.
- Process guest checks and payments accurately in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, dining areas, and other assigned areas.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently and according to established standards.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and workplace safety policies and procedures applicable to the position.
- Work cooperatively with hosts, bartenders, kitchen staff, management, and other team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Assist with opening, closing, side work, stocking, cleaning, and other operational duties as assigned.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the company.
- Protect guest privacy and company information and handle company property responsibly.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide friendly, professional, and attentive guest service.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to remain organized and attentive in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to learn and use point-of-sale (POS) systems and other restaurant technology.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must meet any applicable legal age or certification requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, twist, and move throughout the restaurant.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and transport food, beverages, trays, dishes, and supplies weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.
- Ability to carry trays and safely navigate through busy dining and service areas.
- Ability to repeatedly reach, grasp, and handle dishes, glassware, utensils, menus, and other service items.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining awareness of guests, coworkers, furniture, and other potential obstacles.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Position may involve exposure to varying temperatures, including hot kitchen areas and refrigerated storage areas.
- Work may require evening, weekend, and holiday availability based on business needs.
- The position may involve extended periods of standing, walking, and physical activity.
Experience, Education, & Licensure
- High School Diploma or GED recommended.
- Some College experience or Degree recommended.
- Must have a current Food Handlers card.
- Previous server experience in a professional setting is preferred.
