About the role
We're looking for a Public Affairs Consultant to join our growing Public Affairs practice in Hungary.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced public affairs professional who is passionate about politics, policy and stakeholder engagement. You'll work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, providing strategic advice, delivering political insight and helping organisations successfully navigate Hungary's political and regulatory environment.
The successful candidate will be confident working independently while thriving as part of a collaborative team. Beyond delivering excellent client work, you'll play an important role in supporting business development and will have the opportunity to help shape and grow our Public Affairs practice over time, including leading and developing the professional team.
Responsibilities include
- Managing and developing public affairs client accounts
- Acting as a trusted day-to-day contact for clients
- Developing public affairs and stakeholder engagement strategies
- Monitoring political and policy developments and providing strategic advice to clients
- Preparing political analyses, briefings and reports
- Organising and coordinating meetings with political and institutional stakeholders
- Supporting client meetings and presentations
- Contributing to business development activities, including pitches and proposals
- Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across government, public institutions, industry and civil society
- Helping grow and strengthen Grayling's Public Affairs offering in Hungary
About You
- Fluent English and Hungarian, both written and spoken
- Strong interest in politics, public policy and public affairs
- Relevant academic background, such as law, economics, political science, sociology, public administration, communications or a related discipline
- Relevant experience within a public affairs consultancy, communications agency, government, or an in-house public affairs or corporate affairs team
- An established network of political and institutional stakeholders would be a strong advantage
- Excellent understanding of Hungary's political and policy-making environment
