Summary

Coordinate public affairs training and communication strategies for joint military training events and geographic commands, including media relations and crisis response.

This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. Serve as a Public Affairs Specialist responsible for coordinating public affairs training requirements and strategies of assigned areas of Joint Planning Support Element (JPSE) sponsored or supported joint training events; exercise communication strategies and activities for assigned geographic command(s).

As a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST at the GS-1035-12/13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Identify communication needs and develop and execute communication strategies, goals, and objectives, process, and materials to meet those needs while synchronizing and integrating communication messages with those from higher headquarters. Conduct formal media (traditional and social) assessment and content analysis against previously developed baseline and across the competition and conflict continuum. Executes a comprehensive Public Affairs exercise/event integrating media relations, social media, community/Congressional relations, internal information, visual information, communication planning, and contingency/crisis response. Represents JPSE with a variety of installations, local government, public, civic, service, industry, educational, and media organizations. Develops and presents for senior officials' approval policies on the management of JPSE's mission by identifying, analyzing, and defining critical success factors, goals and objectives. GS-12 Duties will be performed in a developmental capacity.
