Public Affairs Specialist

As a GS-13 Public Affairs Specialist you will be part of the Communications Division, Office of Communications and Legislative Affairs, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will be responsible for advising and assisting the Director of Communications in the development, administration, coordination and execution of the plans, policies and procedures for carrying out EEOC's communications program activities, to include various writing, editing, and media relations.

Provides technical assistance to the Director of Communications.

Communicates with the media and external non-government organizations.

Recommends and participates in the development and strategic planning of communications policies and goals.

Prepares Commission responses to public inquiries and coordinates internal communications.

Develops, writes, and edits news releases and original material for public dissemination and for EEOC publications.

Provides advice to managers in coordinating, developing, and implementing communication outreach plans and projects.
