Position Summary
One Source Housekeeping Solution is seeking an experienced Public Area Manager for a resort property in Phoenix, AZ. The Public Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance of all public and common areas throughout the resort, including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, pool decks, meeting/event spaces, back-of-house areas, and other guest-facing spaces. This role ensures these areas consistently meet brand and company standards, supporting an exceptional guest experience while leading a team of public area attendants and supervisors managing labor and productivity, and ensuring consistent execution of client and company expectations.
This role requires a highly visible, hands-on leader who is comfortable managing a team and driving accountability.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily cleaning, upkeep, and presentation of all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, pool and deck areas, meeting rooms, and outdoor common spaces.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate public area attendants and lead staff.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs and inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Coordinate with the Housekeeping Director on staffing needs, deep-cleaning schedules, and special projects.
- Manage inventory and ordering of cleaning supplies, equipment, and amenities for public areas.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, OSHA standards, and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Respond promptly to guest concerns or requests related to public space cleanliness and presentation.
- Coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance on repairs, deep cleans, and upkeep of public area fixtures and furnishings.
- Support event and banquet turnover needs by ensuring public spaces are guest-ready before and after functions.
- Drive accountability across team, holding staff and supervisors to consistent execution of client and company expectations.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections, incident reports, and staff training records.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and service expectations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in housekeeping or public area operations, preferably in a resort or high-volume hotel setting.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning standards, procedures, and equipment for public/common spaces.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable to service and cleanliness standards.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple areas and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and staff.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings/evenings as needed.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods, and to perform cleaning tasks as needed.
