A leading Australian tertiary institution is seeking an experienced PKI Engineer for a 12 month day rate contract with strong potential to extend. This is an opportunity to work within a large scale, complex IT environment supporting critical education and research infrastructure.
You will be responsible for managing and enhancing the organisation's public key infrastructure, focusing on certificate lifecycle management, security compliance and system integration across diverse platforms.

Key responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain PKI solutions across enterprise environments
- Manage certificate lifecycle including issuance, renewal, revocation and monitoring
- Integrate PKI services with identity and access management systems
- Troubleshoot certificate-related issues across applications and infrastructure
- Develop and maintain PKI policies, procedures and documentation
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure and application teams on certificate requirements
- Monitor certificate expiry and automate renewal processes where possible
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best-practice frameworks
- Proven experience as a PKI Engineer or similar security-focused infrastructure role
- Strong knowledge of certificate authorities, certificate lifecycle management and cryptographic concepts
- Experience with enterprise PKI platforms such as Microsoft CA, Entrust or similar
- Understanding of SSL/TLS, digital signatures and encryption protocols
- Familiarity with identity and access management integration
- Scripting skills for automation using PowerShell, Python or similar
- Ability to work independently and communicate technical concepts to varied audiences
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, computer science or related discipline preferred
