Job Summary
The PR Director is responsible for developing and executing the restaurant's public relations, brand communication, partnership, and publicity strategies. The role focuses on strengthening brand awareness, building relationships with media and industry partners, managing public communications, and creating opportunities that increase the restaurant's visibility and reputation. The PR Director will work closely with the Director, General Manager, Operations and Marketing teams to ensure that the restaurant maintains a strong and consistent public image.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive public relations and communications strategies to enhance the restaurant’s brand visibility and reputation
- Build and sustain professional relationships with media, journalists, influencers, KOLs, business partners, and other stakeholders to secure positive coverage and collaborations
- Identify and pursue opportunities for media exposure, partnerships, and brand collaborations that align with business goals
- Plan, coordinate, and manage restaurant launches, promotional events, media tastings, VIP events, and other publicity activities to maximize audience engagement
- Create and distribute press releases, media kits, corporate profiles, announcements, and other external communications that effectively convey the brand message
- Serve as the primary contact for media enquiries, managing responses to maintain a positive public image
- Collaborate with social media and marketing teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across all platforms
- Develop and nurture relationships with corporate clients, lifestyle brands, event organizers, and strategic partners to generate collaboration opportunities
- Support influencer and social media campaigns by identifying suitable content creators and coordinating partnership efforts
- Represent the restaurant at networking events, industry functions, and business engagements to promote brand presence
- Monitor public feedback, media coverage, online discussions, and industry trends to proactively manage the restaurant’s reputation
- Formulate communication strategies to address customer complaints, negative publicity, or reputational risks when necessary
- Partner with management to develop promotional campaigns that drive customer engagement and brand awareness
- Ensure all external communications align with the restaurant’s brand positioning and image standards
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of PR activities, providing regular performance reports to management
- Manage PR budgets, external agencies, and service providers to optimize resource use and campaign impact
- Execute additional PR, communications, and business development tasks as assigned by management
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business, Hospitality, or related fields preferred
- Experience in public relations, communications, marketing, hospitality, F&B, lifestyle, or related industries
- Established network of media, business, lifestyle, influencer, or industry contacts advantageous
- Proven skills in communication, presentation, networking, and relationship management
- Knowledge of social media platforms and digital communications
- Experience organizing media events, launches, collaborations, or promotional activities advantageous
- Strong writing skills with the ability to professionally represent the company’s brand
- Commercial awareness to identify partnership and promotional opportunities
- Resourcefulness and confidence in engaging diverse stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to attend restaurant events, networking functions, and business engagements outside normal office hours when required
