The Public Relations Manager oversees planning, implementation, and evaluation of all communications and marketing activities for the Saline County Library system.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2 years of marketing or related experience in a public library, non-profit or community organization.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field.
- Arkansas driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Organization, innovation, self-motivation, and a commitment to developing a brand identity that supports the library’s mission, vision, values, and goals.
Preferred:
- 3+ years of marketing or related experience in a public library, non-profit or community organization.
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. Computer literacy and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Knowledge of public library and nonprofit marketing trends.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor to represent the library at programs and community events.
- Ability to speak in public to a wide variety of audiences and to network with other professionals in Saline County
- Works well with people of all ages.
- Utilizes excellent communication skills to maintain professional relationships with co-workers and supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Develops the library's marketing plan.
- Manages brand identity; creates and approves the library's graphic art for ads, brochures, flyers, cards, etc.
- Ensures completion and distribution of library communications, including calendars, e-newsletters, e-blasts, and press releases.
- Manages all social media accounts, website, and calendars.
- Prepares talking points and FAQs for staff as needed.
- Conducts community marketing research and focus groups to assist in strategic planning.
- Utilizes community marketing data to promote specific library services to select areas of the county and run successful library campaigns.
- Builds partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and community leaders to strengthen the library's relationship with the community.
- Ensures the library's participation in community-wide events. This includes setting up booths, attending meetings, and speaking.
- Creates opportunities for off-site library-led events to promote the library.
- Manages fundraising efforts and donations.
- Other duties as assigned.
