Public Relations (PR) Officer

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Public Relations (PR) Officer to manage and enhance the reputation, visibility, and communication strategy of the school/academy. The PR Officer will be responsible for developing media relations, handling internal and external communications, promoting school/academy events, and ensuring positive engagement with students, parents, alumni, and the wider community.



Key Responsibilities:


  1. Media Relations & Brand Building:

    • Build and maintain relationships with media houses, journalists, and educational platforms.

    • Draft press releases, newsletters, and media content to highlight achievements, events, and initiatives.

    • Ensure positive coverage of school/academy activities in local and national media.

  2. Internal & External Communications:

    • Develop and manage communication channels including the website, social media, and printed material.

    • Prepare speeches, newsletters, brochures, and other communication content for stakeholders.

    • Address queries and feedback from parents, students, and the community in a timely and professional manner.

  3. Event Promotion & Coverage:

    • Plan, coordinate, and promote academic, cultural, and sporting events, workshops, and campaigns.

    • Work with departments to ensure effective publicity before, during, and after events.

    • Organize media coverage for tournaments, annual functions, or important announcements.

  4. Crisis Communication & Reputation Management:

    • Act as a liaison during emergencies or sensitive situations.

    • Develop strategies to handle complaints, negative publicity, or crises.

    • Uphold the reputation and integrity of the institution.

  5. Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Foster relationships with alumni, donors, parents, and corporate partners.

    • Assist in fundraising activities and community outreach programs.

    • Support student welfare initiatives by ensuring clear and consistent communication.

  6. Content Development:

    • Write and edit promotional materials, reports, and success stories.

Manage social media accounts with creative and engaging posts aligned with the institution’s mission.

Requirements


  • Educational Qualification:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field – mandatory.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in PR, media, or communication roles, preferably in educational institutions, sports academies, or NGOs.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, content writing, and design tools.

    • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

    • Strong organizational skills, creativity, and problem-solving ability.

    • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.



Work Environment & Expectations:


  • Participate in school/academy events, workshops, and training sessions as required.

  • Be proactive in identifying opportunities for publicity and engagement.

  • Maintain professionalism while interacting with students, staff, parents, media, and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure alignment with the values, mission, and brand identity of the institution.
