Summary
Develops and administers power marketing contracts for a federal agency delivering hydroelectric energy to public bodies and cooperatives across six states.
As a Public Utilities Specialist, you will serve in the Southwestern Power Administration (SWPA), Office of Corporations Operations, Division of Power Marketing and Transmission Policy developing SWPA's marketing policy and Transmission Strategy, and developing, negotiating, and administering power marketing contracts, and implementing power marketing policy through those contracts. ***This is NOT a remote position. You will have to physically report to Tulsa, OK.***
As a Public Utilities Specialist, you are responsible for the development of SWPA's marketing policy and Transmission Strategy, and the development, negotiation, and administration of individual SWPA power marketing contracts, and the implementation of SWPA's power marketing policy through those contracts. SWPA supports the critical mission of marketing and reliably delivering Federal hydroelectric power and energy, with preference to public bodies and cooperatives, in six states including Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. The Office of Corporate Operations assures the Power Marketing and Transmission Policy activities are accomplished by negotiating, developing, and administering power marketing contracts, and amendments thereof, for sale, exchange, transmission or purchase of power and energy, and for electrical system integration. Other duties of this position include: Contract development; Customer relations; Policy development and implementation; and Project and study analysis and research.
