Summary

Procure spare parts, stores, and services for tanker vessels, negotiating with global suppliers and coordinating logistics to meet vessel trading schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement of spare parts, stores, lubricants, and services for assigned tanker vessels (Crude, Product, Chemical or LPG).
  • Find, evaluate, and negotiate with approved marine suppliers worldwide to get good prices and on-time delivery.
  • Handle requisitions from vessels, checking that technical specifications and maker references are correct.
  • Collect quotations, compare prices, and prepare purchase orders following company procedures.
  • Work closely with Technical Superintendents and vessel crew to clarify requirements and urgency.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely delivery to ports worldwide, based on tanker trading routes.
  • Track order status and follow up on outstanding items to avoid delays.
  • Keep supplier records, pricing information, and procurement data updated in the purchasing system (e.g., AMOS, ShipServ, or similar).
  • Follow company policies, ISM, ISPS, OCIMF and vetting requirements for tanker operations.
  • Look into procurement trends and find ways to save costs without affecting safety or quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Logistics Management, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • At least 2 to 4 years of experience in procurement, preferably with a ship management or vessel-owning company.
  • Familiarity with marine procurement software, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Good negotiation skills with commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple vessels simultaneously.
