Purchasing Coordinator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Serve as primary point of contact for all purchasing inquiries, orders, and vendor communications.
· Coordinate purchase orders for all builds, resolving any issues with inaccurate purchase orders in Buildertrend
· Negotiate with suppliers to get quality products and services with optimum pricing.
· Facilitate vendor bidding, tracking, and award process
· Compile cost analysis for bids
· Obtain and compile cost and takeoff data for change orders and coordinate with Operations Manager/Coordinator when complete.
· Manage price sheets and cost catalog in Buildertrend to ensure they are accurate and current.
· Maintain material takeoffs and estimate data on standard plans.
· Assist Director of Purchasing with creation of budgets on each home.
· Ensure vendors comply with contract requirements.
· Work with Designer for product development
· Ensure all new contractors have a signed Scope of Work and contract paperwork is sent to Accounting Dept to place in vendor file
· Invite new vendors to Buildertrend and assist with any questions regarding BT
· Expedite deliveries when necessary
· All Operations are required to complete assigned BuilderTrend Academy courses and submit certificate to Construction Services Director.
· Additional BuilderTrend webinars are available through the training tab, and you are encouraged to sign up for classes regularly.
· Individual training sessions can be scheduled with our assigned BuilderTrend coach.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
· Minimum 2 years experience in the new home residential construction industry.
· Knowledge of construction principles and processes.
· Knowledge of construction materials.
· Knowledge and experience with Microsoft suite.
· Previous experience in homebuilding software platforms (knowledge of BuilderTrend is a plus).
· Ability to review and interpret contract documents, building plans and specifications.
· Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, building codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
· Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE AND HOURS:
Full-time, in-office position. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend support as needed.
