Our client is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement strategy, supplier performance, and cost optimization initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role will oversee a purchasing team, develop supplier partnerships, lead strategic sourcing efforts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and business objectives.

What You’ll Do

• Lead purchasing operations and provide strategic direction for procurement activities
• Manage, coach, and develop a purchasing team while establishing priorities and performance expectations
• Develop sourcing strategies focused on cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through communication, collaboration, and performance management
• Lead supplier negotiations, contract discussions, and cost improvement initiatives
• Identify and execute cost reduction, cost avoidance, and continuous improvement opportunities
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Materials, and Finance teams to support business needs
• Support new product launches, supplier transitions, and manufacturing initiatives
• Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements related to quality, delivery, capacity, and service
• Improve purchasing processes, systems, and procedures to increase efficiency and consistency

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, Operations, Materials Management, or related field
• 8+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of purchasing leadership or team management experience
• Strong background in supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, and cost reduction initiatives
• Experience managing supplier performance related to quality, cost, and delivery
• Experience supporting new programs, supplier development, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and build long-term supplier partnerships
