Purchasing Manager

Lead the day-to-day operation and continued development of the company's procure-to-pay environment. Oversee purchasing activities and negotiate contracts to ensure a cost-effective and efficient procurement process. Establish relationships with vendors and develop purchasing strategies to acquire goods and services while adhering to budget constraints.

· Create standards and protocols for the company’s purchasing processes. And continuously evaluate and improve procurement practices, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements

· Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Procurement buyers and analysts, which includes establishing clear roles, service levels, work queues, escalation paths, and performance expectations

· Build a customer-oriented service culture focused on responsiveness, accuracy, control, and continuous improvement

· Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards

· Oversee procurement intake, requisition and purchase-order support, catalogs, supplier onboarding, vendor master-data coordination, reporting, compliance, and issue resolution

· Partner with Category Management to move Procurement from a transaction-focused function to a strategic, data-driven organization

· Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, payment terms, and mutually beneficial agreements

· Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other information to determine a reasonable price

· Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to support procurement decisions

· Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals

· Managing supplier relationships, including ongoing performance evaluation, issue resolution, and fostering long-term partnerships

· Create standards and protocols for the company’s purchasing processes. And continuously evaluate and improve procurement practices, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements


Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field

· 5+ years as purchasing manager

· 7-10 years of procurement experience

· Strong team leadership and people development skills

· In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, strategies, and best practices

· Demonstrable experience in the North American market and familiarity with local suppliers and sourcing channels

· Strong skills in budgeting, cost optimization, and negotiation techniques.

· Knowledge of vendor management and source-to-paysystems

· An analytical mind with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
