In this hands-on role you will build backend and cloud-native software for a global reinsurance platform, shaping architecture and engineering practices. You’ll explore AI-driven improvements to productivity and products, using modern design patterns and AI tools. You’ll work in a small, agile tech team on greenfield initiatives with cross-functional collaboration. This is an opportunity to influence how AI is embedded into the software development lifecycle while delivering robust, scalable systems.

• Develop backend services and cloud-native components in Python (and optionally C#).
• Help shape system architecture and design patterns for scalable solutions.
• Explore and apply AI to improve engineering productivity and product capabilities.
• Ensure connectivity between frontend and backend, with React/Angular knowledge as a plus.
• Work in an agile, startup-like environment with cross-functional collaboration.
• Participate in CI/CD, microservices, and cloud-native practices (Azure/AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform).
• Promote software engineering best practices and maintainable code.

• Strong backend software engineering experience with Python; C# experience beneficial but not essential.
• Solid CS fundamentals: OOP, multithreading, design patterns, and system design.
• Understanding of frontend-backend connectivity; React or Angular skills preferred.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures (Azure/AWS), event-driven systems, microservices, CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Interest in embedding AI into processes and products; familiarity with Claude or similar tools.
• Collaborative, good communication and problem-solving skills; experience in a start-up/small team environment.
