Python Developer

Summary

Senior Python engineer building and scaling a B2B SaaS platform with FastAPI/Django, AWS, PostgreSQL, and ETL pipelines while owning features end-to-end.

Senior Python Software Engineer | Bristol | Up to £75k + Stock (3 Days a week onsite)

I'm hiring for a growing B2B SaaS company looking for a genuinely well-rounded Senior Software Engineer.

This is not a pure DevOps role.

It is not a narrow data-engineering position.

And it is not a role where you only build isolated APIs and hand everything else to another team.

They need someone comfortable working across the full technical picture: building web applications, writing production Python, working with Linux, deploying into AWS, designing APIs, modelling databases and moving data through reliable ETL pipelines.

You do not need to be exceptional in every area. The hiring manager would rather meet someone with solid, balanced experience across the stack than someone world-class in one area with no exposure to the rest.

The role

You'll take meaningful ownership of a growing SaaS platform, working across:

  • Python web development using FastAPI, Django or Flask
  • Customer-facing web applications and backend services
  • REST APIs and third-party integrations
  • Linux development and production environments
  • AWS infrastructure and deployment
  • PostgreSQL, SQL and NoSQL databases
  • ETL pipelines and data-processing workflows
  • Docker, testing, CI/CD and production reliability

You'll work closely with Product and the wider business, helping turn requirements into maintainable software rather than simply completing tickets.

There is also scope to influence architecture, engineering standards and future hiring as the team grows.

What they're looking for

You'll likely have:

  • Strong commercial Python software-engineering experience
  • Experience building complete web applications, not only scripts or infrastructure tooling
  • Hands-on Linux experience across development, deployment and troubleshooting
  • Exposure to AWS and containerised environments
  • Experience designing and integrating APIs
  • Strong SQL skills and some NoSQL exposure
  • Experience building or supporting ETL and data-processing pipelines
  • The confidence to work autonomously in a small product team
  • A pragmatic approach to testing, security and maintainability

You might currently be a Senior Python Engineer, Backend Engineer, Full-Stack Engineer, Lead Developer or an experienced Software Engineer who enjoys working across boundaries.

Package

  • Bristol - three days per week onsite
  • Stock options
  • High ownership and real influence
  • Opportunity to grow into broader technical leadership

The company cannot provide visa sponsorship, so unrestricted UK working rights are required.
