Detailed Job Description:

The Python Developer – DevOps & AI is responsible for engineering resilient, automated software delivery ecosystems and infusing artificial intelligence into core DevOps and DevSecOps processes. In this position, you will write production-grade, highly performant Python code to build custom automation frameworks, API microservices, and automated testing suites. You will design and maintain enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab CI and deploy scalable, cloud-native services across Amazon Web Services (AWS). Your daily duties involve collaborating with distributed engineering teams to integrate front-end interfaces developed in Angular with robust Python backends and AI-powered pipeline processors.

A central mandate of this role is leveraging generative AI and machine learning models to revolutionize continuous integration workflows. You will design and deploy intelligent scanning algorithms leveraging AWS Bedrock and modern LLM orchestration frameworks to evaluate code repositories, analyze build telemetry, and refine security scanning alerts. The ideal candidate will combine deep software engineering rigor with cloud infrastructure automation, driving continuous modernization, operational reliability, and AI-enabled efficiency across all software delivery lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, robust Python applications, microservices, and automation scripts.
• Architect and manage end-to-end continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines utilizing GitLab CI.
• Deploy, scale, and manage containerized applications and cloud-native infrastructure across Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative artificial intelligence capabilities into modern DevOps and DevSecOps workflows.
• Leverage AWS Bedrock and cloud AI/ML tools to build intelligent automated scanning solutions that increase scanning precision and eliminate false positives.
• Develop and integrate modern front-end components using Angular to support internal developer portals and monitoring dashboards.
• Implement automated code quality checks, security vulnerability scans, and policy-as-code frameworks across the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional software engineering, cloud operations, and security teams across Washington, DC, and Atlanta, GA.
• Conduct comprehensive unit testing, performance benchmarking, system integration, and code reviews for all automated workflows.
• Author clear, comprehensive technical architecture documentation, API specifications, and operational deployment runbooks.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on professional software development experience specializing in Python.
• Proven track record in DevOps engineering with strong expertise building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Extensive practical experience architecting, deploying, and managing infrastructure and services on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities into production workflows and operational toolchains.
• Hands-on full-stack development experience working with Angular or modern front-end web frameworks.
• Proven capability in designing automated scanning tools, vulnerability filtering mechanisms, or telemetry analyzers to minimize false positives.
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker), Linux system administration, and RESTful API architecture.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Practical hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, or enterprise generative AI foundational models.
• Industry-standard certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, or AWS DevOps Engineer Professional.
• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Familiarity with modern AI/ML orchestration libraries such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face.
