Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Lead Developer to lead and build a software development team at our Chennai office. The role involves a balanced mix of hands-on development and technical leadership, managing a team of up to 5 developers, and collaborating with UK-based engineering stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new features and platform enhancements.
- Spend approximately 50% of the time on hands-on development and 50% on technical leadership and team management.
- Manage, mentor, and guide a team of developers.
- Coordinate with UK-based stakeholders and ensure alignment with business and technical objectives.
- Plan and deliver technical projects within agreed timelines.
- Establish and maintain technical standards and ensure adherence to SDLC practices.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team development.
- Take ownership of application performance, delivery, and technical outcomes.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Python Flask, SQLAlchemy, NumPy, Pandas.
- Database experience with MySQL.
- Cloud experience with AWS – ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS.
- Experience with RabbitMQ, Docker, Linux, and GitLab.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools.
- Strong understanding of distributed software systems.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- At least 2+ years of experience in a Lead / Technical Leadership role.
- Experience working with product-based companies is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing applications and taking ownership of end-to-end deliverables.
- Experience collaborating with international or remote stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
- Basic understanding of financial markets and derivative products is preferred.
Interview Process
- Online Screening Test: 20 minutes to 1 hour, consisting of 3 puzzle/problem-solving questions.
- Technical Assignment: One technical assignment.
- Technical Interview: Face-to-face technical discussion.
- Final Round: Management / Leadership discussion.
