Python Developer – Backend / API
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with strong backend development experience using Django and/or Flask, along with hands-on experience building and integrating REST APIs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience working with containerized applications using OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Docker.
The developer will work closely with application, infrastructure, DevOps, and QA teams to design, develop, deploy, and support scalable enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based backend applications and services.
- Develop and enhance applications using Django and/or Flask frameworks.
- Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Work with development and engineering teams throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, testing, and production support.
- Develop scalable and maintainable backend solutions using Python.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to support application builds, deployments, and releases.
- Apply CI/CD concepts to automate software build, testing, and deployment processes.
- Support applications running in containerized environments.
- Work with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift.
- Troubleshoot application, API, deployment, and container-related issues.
- Contribute to technical documentation and development standards.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on Python development experience.
- Experience with Django and/or Flask frameworks.
- Strong experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and practices.
- Experience with container technologies such as:
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- OpenShift
- Strong understanding of backend application development and software engineering principles.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing microservices using Python.
- Experience deploying Python applications to OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
- Familiarity with automated build and deployment pipelines.
- Experience with Git or other source-control systems.
- Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Experience in enterprise application development and production support.
