About the role Anyone AI is seeking experienced Python Developers based in Mexico to contribute to a project for a premier artificial intelligence laboratory. The position involves designing and evaluating realistic software engineering challenges that span bug resolution, feature implementation, refactoring, and test generation. Contributors will produce complex coding scenarios and review peer submissions to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with production standards. This is a part-time, project-based consultant engagement where professionals control their own schedules and provide their own equipment. The role offers the flexibility to work alongside other professional commitments, operating on a per-project payment structure with hourly rate estimates.

What you'll do
- Design and implement multi-file coding tasks that simulate real-world scenarios across bug fixing, new feature development, refactoring initiatives, and migration projects.
- Author clear, detailed natural-language specifications accompanied by reference implementations that serve as the ground truth for evaluation.
- Develop and extend comprehensive unit and integration test suites using frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing to validate functionality and catch regressions.
- Conduct thorough peer reviews of generated tasks, assessing them for correctness, clarity, realism, and adherence to provided specifications.
- Identify edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure modes within codebases and task definitions to improve robustness.
- Ensure strict alignment between natural language specifications, reference code, test artifacts, and expected outputs.
- Navigate and debug large, multi-file production codebases to create authentic engineering challenges.
- Apply refactoring techniques and manage production migration scenarios within the designed tasks.
- Collaborate asynchronously with other expert contributors to maintain a high bar for task quality and consistency.
- Translate complex technical requirements into structured, actionable evaluation assets for AI model benchmarking.
Requirements
- Advanced professional written proficiency in English to articulate complex technical specifications and review feedback.
- Three to seven years of professional software engineering experience in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript or TypeScript for primary development tasks.
- Working knowledge of at least one additional backend language such as Java, C#, or Go.
- Demonstrated backend or full-stack development experience building and maintaining production systems.
- Hands-on experience with major testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing) for test generation and validation.
- Proven ability to debug, navigate, and understand large, multi-file codebases independently.
- Solid track record of conducting code reviews, performing refactoring, and executing production migrations.
Nice to have
- Prior experience contributing to AI model evaluation, benchmarking, or red-teaming efforts.
- Familiarity with designing synthetic datasets or evaluation harnesses for code generation models.
- Experience with static analysis tools, linters, or automated code quality gates.
