Optimis Tech seeks a Senior Python Developer for a long-term freelance role focusing on scientific data, ML, and software engineering. The position is remote with project-dependent arrangements in Northern Italy, near Varese, starting ASAP.

The role demands deep Python expertise, ML framework experience, and the ability to handle scientific data formats within a fast-paced, international environment. Fluent English and Italian are required.

Design, develop and maintain Python software for scientific data projects. Apply machine learning frameworks to solve complex problems. Analyze requirements and deliver well-tested, maintainable code. Process and validate complex datasets with quality controls. Collaborate with cross-functional teams; support a freelance long-term project. 6+ years professional Python programming. 6+ years delivering code and unit tests. 4+ years applying machine learning frameworks. 4+ years handling scientific data formats. Strong software engineering fundamentals. Very good English and Italian (B2+). Master's degree or Level 7 EQF; 15+ years IT experience; Deep Learning specialization.
