The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Mid-Level Python Developer to develop Python packages, internal tools, automation flows, CI processes, and software integrations with hardware systems and lab equipment.

Requirements

  • Develop and maintain Python packages, libraries, internal tools, scripts, and automation flows.
  • Work with hardware systems and lab equipment, including SCPI-based communication and instruments such as oscilloscopes.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, validation flows, and deployment processes.
  • Debug software, hardware integration, and automation issues in Linux-based environments.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, QA, and DevOps teams to support development, testing, and validation activities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
  • Experience developing Python packages, libraries, automation flows, tests, and internal tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Familiarity with databases, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Good Git, Linux, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and communicate well with cross-functional teams.

Advantage

  • Experience with PyTest, Docker, Serial, USB, TCP/IP, or SCPI.
  • Experience working with hardware, lab equipment, oscilloscopes, or hardware validation environments.

  • We are located at the Science Park, close to the Weizmann institute of science.
  • Full collaboration with the experimental & theoretical groups at the Weizmann Institute
