Junior Python Engineer building and maintaining research infrastructure, ETL pipelines, and analytical tools for a hedge fund's trading teams using Python, Git, Airflow, Jenkins, and Podman.

My client are a Hedge Fund seeking a Junior Python Engineer for their Paris Office.

  • Design, develop, and maintain the team’s infrastructure using Python, alongside in-house tools and technologies such as Git, Airflow, Jenkins, and Podman.
  • Take ownership of data ETL pipelines and data collection processes.
  • Optimise and enhance the performance of the team’s research infrastructure.
  • Conduct data analysis and produce both live and historical analytical reports.
  • Keep up to date with state-of-the-art technologies, tools, technical libraries, and computing practices.
  • Collaborate closely with the SPM and trading teams within a transparent environment, gaining direct exposure to the trading ecosystem.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the Linux operating system, including shell and command-line tools.
  • 2+ years of professional Python programming experience.
  • Experience developing quantitative tools and infrastructure for research.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and quantitative skills.

Preferred Experience

  • 2–3+ years of development experience within a bank, quantitative hedge fund, or similar financial institution.
