Job Summary
Shriram General Insurance is seeking a skilled Python Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and backend services. The role involves developing APIs, integrating databases and third-party services, optimizing application performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Python.
- Build scalable and secure backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Develop and maintain integrations with databases, third-party APIs, and internal systems.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and performance issues.
- Optimize applications for scalability, reliability, and security.
- Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
- Support application deployment, maintenance, and enhancement activities.
- Maintain technical documentation for developed applications and services.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming.
- Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Good understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
- Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with SQL and database design concepts.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized application deployment.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Experience with Redis, Celery, or asynchronous task processing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
- Exposure to insurance or BFSI applications will be an added advantage.
