Python Developer / Team Lead - FinTech
Summary
Hands-on Team Lead for a core banking platform at a well-funded FinTech in London: split roughly 50/50 between hands-on Python/FastAPI architecture, refactoring and feature delivery, and leading/mentoring a small team. Stack is Python with FastAPI APIs, cloud (GCP preferred), and CI/CD.
In this role you lead a small, skilled tech team to deliver features and perform refactoring for a core banking platform within a well-funded FinTech. You work hands-on about half the time, shaping architecture and mentoring peers while driving continuous improvement. You collaborate with cross-functional colleagues and contribute to a platform that integrates with major banks like HSBC. This is a hands-on leadership role with meaningful impact on product scale and engineering culture.

- Strong cloud knowledge (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable)
- Experience building APIs, ideally with FastAPI
- Solid CI/CD, testing, and deployment understanding
- Strong CS fundamentals (OOP, data structures, design patterns, algorithms)
- Degree in STEM with 2.1 or higher
