We're looking for a Python Developer who will design, build, and maintain the backend services and Go-based device client powering our IoT device management and orchestration platform — working across REST/WebSocket APIs, job orchestration, and a Redis-backed operational data store.
If you enjoy combining analytics, experimentation, and hands-on execution — and want your work to clearly translate into pipeline and growth — you'll feel right at home.
Here is more About Us
Project Description
The project is a device management and provisioning platform for network operators, built around a fleet of remote micro-devices that register, get configured, and are monitored through a central API. The system covers device discovery and registration, job dispatch and execution against remote devices, a repository service for firmware/software artifacts, WireGuard-based network provisioning, and a Streamlit-based operations dashboard. Backend services and the operations dashboard are written in Python, with a Go client running on the devices themselves, Redis as the operational data store, and file storage for binary artifacts. The team ships regularly to a staging/test environment and works closely with the client's technical stakeholders on requirements, bug triage, and releases.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST/WebSocket APIs for device registration, job orchestration, and repository/artifact management.
- Investigate and fix production and staging issues reported by the client (e.g. state inconsistencies, race conditions, malformed input handling).
- Develop and maintain the Go client running on remote devices, keeping it in sync with backend API contracts.
- Build and maintain the operations dashboard front-end in Streamlit.
- Contribute to CI/CD, Docker-based deployments, and release stability.
- Write and maintain automated tests for API endpoints, job dispatch logic, and data reconciliation flows
- Participate in technical calls with the team and client stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial experience with Python backend development.
- 3+ years of experience working with Redis (or a similar in-memory/data store) in production.
- 3+ years of experience with Go (the on-device client is written in Go - you will own and develop it)
- Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and Kamal.
- Experience building front-end interfaces with Streamlit.
- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs.
- Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VPN/WireGuard concepts).
- Strong debugging skills and attention to detail when working with distributed/stateful systems.
- Upper-Intermediate English (team communicates directly with English-speaking client stakeholders).
Nice to Have
- Background in telecom, networking, or embedded/IoT device management systems.
- Familiarity with WireGuard or other VPN technologies.
- WebSocket experience (in addition to REST APIs).
