Python Developer

About the role

Design, develop, test, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI. Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications following industry best practices. Develop and manage containerized applications using Docker and Docker Compose.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications following industry best practices
• Develop and manage containerized applications using Docker and Docker Compose
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including solution architects, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders, throughout the software development lifecycle
• Deploy and maintain applications in AWS environments using established CI/CD pipelines
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and development best practices
• Implement API versioning, authentication, authorization, error handling, and security controls
• Optimize application performance and database queries
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions
• Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5 years Python Developer experience with FastAPI and API development
• Strong experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles, API versioning, and exception/error handling
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose
• Experience working in enterprise software development environments, including AWS, CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline and CodeDeploy), coding standards and secure development practices, and version control using Bitbucket
• Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases: PostgreSQL and MongoDB
• Experience with Kafka or alternative implementations for near real-time data pipeline/streaming for large data sets
• CI/CD and Test-driven Development experience
• Intermediate SQL background (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift)
• Basic to intermediate experience with AI system development concepts (langchain, RAG, AI Security/Guardrails, observability)
• Experience implementing API security using JWT and OAuth2
