Python Developer with Data experience

In this role you will design, develop and maintain Python-based data solutions within secure, data-intensive systems. You will work as part of a high-performing engineering team to build scalable data pipelines and services, collaborating with data and software engineers, architects and stakeholders. You will focus on data processing, quality and performance, delivering end-to-end, production-grade solutions. • Design, develop and maintain Python applications, services and data processing solutions
• Build and optimise scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
• Develop robust data processing workflows using Python and modern data engineering technologies
• Work with large and complex datasets ensuring data quality, integrity, availability and performance
• Integrate data from multiple sources (APIs, databases, files, streaming)
• Develop reusable, well-tested and maintainable software components
• Design and implement automated testing, monitoring, logging and error-handling mechanisms
• Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, architects and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end data solutions
• Contribute to design and evolution of data platforms, pipelines and supporting infrastructure
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, scalability, reliability and automation
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
• Work within secure development environments and adhere to security, governance and compliance requirements
• Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to architectural and engineering decisions

• Significant commercial experience developing Python applications and services
• Strong experience in data engineering including scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
• Proven experience with SQL, relational databases and large datasets
• Experience with PySpark, Spark or Pandas
• Strong understanding of data quality, transformation and integration
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and automated testing
• Comfortable working in Linux and secure development environments
• Experience delivering production-grade solutions within complex technical environments
• Active UK Security Clearance (SC/DV) is mandatory
