Python Software Engineer / Developer (AI Machine Learning LLM) Madrid / WFH to €80,000

Are you a skilled Python Software Engineer with a good knowledge of AI, Machine Learning and LLMs?

You could be progressing your career as part of a friendly and supportive international team at a growing and hugely successful European car insurance tech company; their platform enables an insurance quote to be made to the consumer within 60 seconds, using just 4 clicks.

As a Python Software Engineer working on the AI / ML Platform, you'll build and evolve the shared services, APIs and developer tools that enable engineers and data scientists across the business to develop, deploy and operate AI and Machine Learning solutions quickly and reliably. AI and ML are central to how the company builds products, makes decisions and operates at scale, giving you the opportunity to work on foundational technology used across the organisation.

You'll take ownership of core platform services throughout their lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through to production operation. You'll tackle challenges around scalability, reliability, observability and developer experience, translating user needs into simple, reusable platform capabilities. Working closely with engineers and data scientists, you'll help reduce the complexity of building with AI and Machine Learning, enabling teams to experiment, innovate and deliver solutions more efficiently.

Location / WFH:

The company is a big advocate of flexible working and prides itself on DEI; you can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the Madrid office around twice a week.

About you:

• You have strong Python backend software engineering skills
• You have experience of working on scalable, robust, distributed systems, microservices
• You have a good knowledge of at least one cloud platform, they use AWS primarily
• You have experience with CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools such as Terraform and Pulumi
• You're comfortable with and have a keen interest in developing your AI and Machine Learning knowledge, experience with LLMs would be great
• You have strong commercial awareness and a product mindset
• You have fluent English language skills
