Role Opportunity
I'm currently working with a leading public sector technology consultancy delivering digital, data and technology projects across government.
They're looking for a Python Engineer / Data Engineer to join their growing team in London. This is a hands‑on engineering role that would suit a strong Python / Backend Engineer with an interest in data engineering and cloud technologies.
You’ll work on modern data platforms and services, developing Python‑based solutions while gaining exposure to data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust Python‑based applications, services and data solutions.
- Build and support data pipelines, ETL/ELT and data transformation processes.
- Work with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Apply software engineering practices including Git, testing and CI/CD.
- Support cloud infrastructure and automation using Terraform / IaC.
- Work with databases and SQL.
- Support data quality, cleansing and standardisation.
- Collaborate with engineers, data specialists and client stakeholders.
- Work within Agile, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Skills Required:
- Python - strong hands‑on development experience
- Cloud - AWS, Azure or GCP
- Git - version control
- CI/CD - understanding of modern software delivery
- SQL - basic commercial experience
- Data Engineering - ETL/ELT, data pipelines and transformation
- Testing - unit, integration and data quality testing
- IaC / Terraform - awareness or practical experience
- SC Clearance - active clearance required to start
