• ABOUT THE CLIENT

  Our client is a fast-growing technology organisation specialising in the development and deployment of advanced AI solutions across Government, Defence and other highly regulated sectors.

  They work on complex, real-world challenges, helping organisations put AI into production through secure, scalable and reliable software. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer with strong Python development skills and a background in deploying machine learning models into production environments.

• THE ROLE

  This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on building the software and infrastructure required to deploy AI and machine learning models into secure environments.

  You’ll work with models developed by data science teams, turning them into reliable, production-ready solutions with a focus on performance, security and scalability.

  Alongside hands-on Python development, you’ll lead technical decisions, shape engineering standards and work closely with engineers, data scientists and client stakeholders to deliver high-impact projects.

• KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, build and deploy production-grade AI and ML software.

• Develop robust, reusable systems using Python.

• Build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure or GCP.

• Implement containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Operationalise machine learning models built with frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.

• Lead technical scoping, architecture and engineering decisions.

• Establish best practices for deploying and maintaining ML systems at scale.

• Work closely with clients and technical teams to solve complex problems.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the wider engineering culture.

• ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Strong commercial Python development experience.

• Excellent software engineering fundamentals and coding practices.

• Experience deploying and operationalising machine learning models in production.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Understanding of system architecture, scalability, reliability and security.

• Strong communication skills and experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Previous experience leading engineering teams, mentoring developers or taking ownership of technical projects.

• Active SC or DV security clearance.
